چکیده

We introduce a renormalization group framework for the study of quasiperiodic skew flows on Lie groups of real or complex n×n matrices, for arbitrary diophantine frequency vectors in R and dimensions d,n. In cases where the group component of the vector field is small, it is shown that there exists an analytic manifold of reducible skew systems, for each diophantine frequency vector. More general near-linear flows are mapped to this case by increasing the dimension of the torus. This strategy is applied for the group of unimodular 2×2 matrices, where the stable manifold is identified with the set of skew systems having a fixed fibered rotation number. Our results apply to vector fields of class C , with γ depending on the number of independent frequencies, and on the diophantine exponent.

A Normal Form Theorem for Brjuno Skew-systems through Renormalization

We develop a dynamical renormalization method for the problem of local reducibility of analytic linear quasi-periodic skew-product flows on T2×SL(2,R). This approach is based on the continued fraction expansion of the linear base flow and deals with ’small-divisors’ by turning them into ’large-divisors’. We use this method to give a new proof of a normal form theorem for a Brjuno base flow.

Renormalization of Vector Fields

These notes cover some of the recent developments in the renormalization of quasiperiodic flows. This includes skew flows over tori, Hamiltonian flows, and other flows on T×R. After stating some of the problems and describing alternative approaches, we focus on the definition and basic properties of a single renormalization step. A second part deals with the construction of conjugacies and inva...

A Nonperturbative Eliasson’s Reducibility Theorem

This paper is concerned with discrete, one-dimensional Schrödinger operators with real analytic potentials and one Diophantine frequency. Using localization and duality we show that almost every point in the spectrum admits a quasi-periodic Bloch wave if the potential is smaller than a certain constant which does not depend on the precise Diophantine conditions. The associated first-order syste...

Resummation of perturbation series and reducibility for Bryuno skew-product flows

We consider skew-product systems on Td × SL(2,R) for Bryuno base flows close to constant coefficients, depending on a parameter, in any dimension d, and we prove reducibility for a large measure set of values of the parameter. The proof is based on a resummation procedure of the formal power series for the conjugation, and uses techniques of renormalisation group in quantum field theory.

On the Canonical-Based Goodness-of-fit Tests for Multivariate Skew-Normality

It is well-known that the skew-normal distribution can provide an alternative model to the normal distribution for analyzing asymmetric data. The aim of this paper is to propose two goodness-of-fit tests for assessing whether a sample comes from a multivariate skew-normal (MSN) distribution. We address the problem of multivariate skew-normality goodness-of-fit based on the empirical Laplace tra...
